Thanksgiving 2017 is right around the corner, which means family traditions, thanks and food is in full swing. Freshmen Gwen Combs shares a tradition that her family does every year.

“A tradition my family has for thanksgiving is that our whole family comes over to our house and my mom cooks a bunch of food for everyone,” Combs said.

One of the most exciting things about Thanksgiving is all of the food. Combs shared what dish will take up most of her plate this Thursday.

“My favorite thanksgiving dish is definitely mashed potatoes,” Combs said. “They are so simple and nobody can mess them up.”

Thanksgiving isn’t just all about the food. Its also a time to sit back and realizing all of the beautiful things in life that might be overlooked. Combs shared what she is most thankful for this year.

“I am thankful for my friends and family,” Combs said. “They will support me no matter what. I’m also thankful to live in a safe and supportive community.”
