Twenty-eight-year-old Syed R. Farook and 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik opened fire inside the Inland Regional Center Wednesday. The shootings left at least 14 people dead and 17 people injured. Following the shooting, many speculated about the motive, ranging from a workplace grudge to terrorism.

However, in the midst of all this terror, a police officer showed true bravery. A video taken inside the center Wednesday shows an officer leading a terrified group of people through the building to safety.

The officer tells the group to stay calm and relaxed as the group makes their way to the officer at the end of the hall.

“I’ll take a bullet before you, that’s for damn sure,” the officer said. “Just be cool, ok?”

The video was taken and shared to the media by Gabi Flores, an employee at the Inland Regional Center where the shooting happened.
