The Pistons hosted the Israeli league champions, Maccabi Haifa in the first preseason game of 2013. Maccabi Haifa were down by more than 31 points in the first half, which lead to the domination for the regenerated Pistons.

Newcomer guard Brandon Jennings, who was traded to Detroit from the Milwaukee Bucks,  finished the night with 15 points and three assists. Free Agent Josh Smith, who was highly criticized for his inability to shoot from the three point line, shot 3-4 from downtown. He also had 12 points and six rebounds.

1st round draft pick Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a rough outing, shooting 1-12 form the field. It’s expected that KCP will begin the season on the bench. Despite that, he’ll need to improve his shooting in order to be a key asset for the  Pistons.

Center and fan favorite Andre Drummond lead the team with 17 points and nine rebounds, as well as three blocked shots. Although it’s only the preseason, Drummond proved Tuesday that he can be dominant force in the paint, offensively and defensively.

Detroit will play host to last season’s world champions Miami Heat Thursday. Guard Dwayne Wade did not play against the Atlanta Hawks Tuesday, it’s unclear if he will play Tomorrow.
