The game “Clash Royale” has been around since 2016. During its time in the app store, the game has had many ups and downs. The popularity has surged and dwindled. The creator of the game and many other large apps, “Supercell,” has made sure to keep up this game as well as others for almost a decade. Recently, the game has had a random outburst again, but this one has been so wide that almost every person you see will be playing it. I asked a local gamer who was very passionate about the game, sophomore Stefan Rantowski.
“The game has had large impacts from popular streamers like Jynxi and Bobby.”
As he said, the streamer by the name of “Jynxi,” who is extremely popular online and has been responsible for reviving this game so quickly. Afterwards he began his Clash Royale streams, and entertained his audience so well with them. The game showed correlations to growth by the day. The streamer has brought his audience to the games he plays and used his influence to boost the game’s player counts and popularity.
When asked how long he had been playing, Rantowski replied, “5 Years”. He spoke about how Clash had definitely grown and withered with new and old players, but never had a spark like this. We also asked him how long he believed that the high for the game would last. He said, “I believe that this will last a few months, but all good things have to come to an end.” And as he has predicted, the game has slowly declined in players and has become just a trend.
In the end, the game will likely make another comeback soon, as its brother games “Brawl Stars” and “Clash of Clans” also do. Commonly, one of those games becomes a popular trend once a year on average. The game’s new mechanics, characters, and gameplay dynamics will always keep it alive. Especially with a pass style membership that will keep players coming back for some rewards and free items. So many are confident that the game will have many more future turning points.
