NEW ORLEANS, LA – The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Detroit Pistons at the Smoothie King Center 115-99 on Thursday.

The Pelicans were led by solid play from Anthony Davis. The former number one overall pick scored 32 points, while grabbing seven rebounds.

The Pelicans started out hot in the game’s early stretches, playing like the team people thought it would be throughout the season. The Pistons were controlled all the way through halftime; the score 72-53.

Detroit brought the lead down to nine points in the third quarter, but was silenced from then on. New Orleans  retained control of the game in the fourth quarter.

The Pistons were led by Andre Drummond, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Brandon Jennings, who each put up big stats for Mo-town.

However, that wasn’t enough for the Pistons, who were out-hustled from the game’s beginning. The Pelicans had solid scoring from each of its starters, while Detroit’s Marcus Morris and Ersan Ilyasova were inefficient.

The Pelicans are showing signs of not giving up, despite a horrid start to the season. New Orleans is still attempting to contend for a playoff spot.

Detroit on the other hand, is still showing its inconsistencies as of late. Detroit cannot seem to make up its mind on whether it wants to win or not; something that needs to change if it wants to contend for a playoff spot.
