The Falcon football team started off the season hot, with a dominant 57-0 win over the phoenix ofPontiac. The Falcons were led offensively by senior wide receiver Aiden Harris who scored two touchdowns in the win, along with great play under center by sophomore quarterback Alex Bueno as he threw for three passing touchdowns. The defense was led by sophomore Jaiden Bolden, who recorded two interceptions in his first varsity game for the Falcons.

The Falcon players made sure to go into this game with the right mindset to come out with a win.

“We were mentally prepared to go out and play hard, and to be the hammer on each play, not the nail,” senior Aiden Harris said.

The RHS coaching staff was certainly impressed by the effort the team put forth in the win.

“Coach Vernon and the staff worked so hard to get the team ready,” defensive coordinator Nick Reed said. “We had no idea how they would perform, but we were confident in their ability to give 100% effort, and play ‘Roc tough football’. They went above and beyond Friday night.”

The win is a great starting point for the team, however the players are already looking ahead towards the rest of their schedule.

“This win showed us that our offense was capable of putting up big numbers, and our defense capable of keeping the other teams numbers low,” Harris said. “Despite the big win we have to put it behind us and focus on next week.”

With this big win, the falcons hope to carry the momentum with them for the rest of their season.

“This game gave us big momentum going forward,” Harris said. “It really showed us what our team is capable of.”

The Falcons hope to continue this winning streak this Friday at 7 p.m. as they take on the Avondale Yellow Jackets.he game will be live streamed on the “Good Morning Rochester” YouTube page.
