Well, this is it. My last few days of senior year are flying by. I can’t necessarily say I’m sad to go, although I will miss my friends. I appreciate all the experiences I’ve had my last four years at RHS and the people who have gotten me where I am today. I don’t want this to be some cheesy column, but I’m not really good at goodbyes.
I loved being part of The Talon and I will remember my classmates who always worked hard to produce a good issue. Although the staff has changed a lot since my freshmen year on staff, it always has been and always will be a family and every year it gets bigger.
Being on The Talon has made me a better person. I never was a very reserved person, but having to go out and talk to not only a variety of students but also experts in certain fields when I was just a freshman was a bit intimidating. The Talon helped me learn how to interact with my peers in a workplace environment versus a school one. The freedom that The Talon gave me to write about what I care about has taught me a lot about both my peers and myself.
To my fellow staffers and editors, I would like you to remember that when the seniors leave it always seems like the paper is loosing a lot. Every year you lose great editors and staffers, and the next year you bring in a pool of new staffers you’ll have to train. Now it’s your time to step up to the plate and continue The Talon legacy.
To my amazing adviser, JSATT, I would like to say thank you for all you do for the staff. You hang out with us at late night layouts and make sure we always produce a top notch issue. You put up with all our little idiosyncrasies because you see the potential in everyone.
Peace out.
