Cupcake Station cupcakes review

Original: The frosting is very fudgy, and surprisingly not too sweet. The cupcake itself, which was just plain vanilla, was light and fluffy. There’s not much else to say about this cupcake, as it was just average. It was good, but not something that one would necessarily praise every chance they get. Despite being average tasting, the cupcake was addicting and it’s the cupcake that one might visit Cupcake Station for the most.

Bailey’s Hot Chocolate: There were high expectations for this cupcake since it’s Cupcake Station’s cupcake of the month. However, it didn’t taste anything like hot chocolate, but just a plain chocolate on chocolate cupcake. The top of the cupcake appeared very moist, but was slightly tough when tapped with a fork. The rest of the cupcake however was very soft, and the texture was favorable. The frosting was a little too buttery, and not enough like cocoa.

Chocolate Salted Caramel: The salt in the salted caramel frosting was almost overwhelming, but oddly, it was the best part of the cupcake. The caramel aspect of the frosting, however, was more like butterscotch than caramel, although there’s not too much of a significant distinction between the two. Without the salt, the cupcake would have been cloyingly sweet. It was better than the Bailey’s Hot Chocolate cupcake, but far from being the best out of the five tasted.

Blueberry Frost: The fresh blueberries on top of the frosting were a cute garnish. The buttercream frosting wasn’t extraordinary, but it was good and just the right amount of sweetness. The cupcake itself tasted more like a blueberry muffin or a pancake, but that was expected. However, the cake was light and fluffy enough to be considered a cupcake, and the flavor was refreshing as it was unlike the other cupcakes tried.

Vanilla Latte: The coffee flavor was more intense than expected. The white chocolate drizzle made the cupcake look more appealing, but it didn’t add to the combination of flavors in the cupcake. The cake was very fluffy, like all the others, but it tasted slightly more like angel food cake than the typical buttery vanilla cupcake.
