On Thursday, Oct. 1, The Falcon Volleyball team took down the Royal Oak Ravens, by a score of 3-2. The Falcons had great play all around, which ultimately led to the victory. This win comes on senior night, as the Volleyball team honored their six seniors.

The Falcons had a great attitude heading into the game knowing that this will be one of the last times that the seniors will be able to play on the Rochester court, and that they needed this win.

“I think what gave us the edge to win is that we wanted it more, especially because it was senior night,” Senior Ananya Rangarajan said. “Starting the game with all six senior on the court was a bittersweet feeling, and was something that drove us to be determined and keep fighting for the win, even when we weren’t playing so strong.”

The Rochester Volleyball team has been struggling this year, as they came into the game with only one win on the season. However this win was able to showcase the team’s true potential.

“Even though our record isn’t the best this year, in this game we proved what type of team we are, and how we really play,” Rangarajan said.

This Volleyball season was hit with restrictions and adjustments, due to the COVID situation. Because of this senior night became more significant.

“Since our season was cut short, things like our win on senior night go towards still making a season to remember,” Rangarajan said.

The Falcons hope to improve their record, Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. as they face off against the Saddlelites of Regina High School.
