Along with the new school year starting, the Robotics team (FEDS) is also beginning. Club leaders say that it’s a great place for students with a variety of interests.

“It isn’t just engineering or ‘the smart kids,’” FEDS lead mentor Mr. Bruce Bennett said. “We have a lot of roles for people to write newsletters, take pictures, do marketing, accounting, and lots of other things.”

Students agree that those who join can find a position that fits their skills and interests.

“ You get to choose your job,” freshman Arshia Orouji said

Students who wish to join the club have to fill out the application form,  get a teacher recommendation, and submit their grades. Club members say they hope to learn new skills through taking part in robotics.

“I hope to learn to learn about teamwork and some important building skills,” said Freshman Balaji Ganeshbabu.

Club members dedicate many hours each week to their team.

“On weekends, during the build period, you have to put in three hours on weekdays and five hours on weekends.” says Senior Krithi Jaligama.
