Junior David Kim has been playing the piano for 10 years, and plans to pursue music in the future. In order to sharpen his skills, practicing regularly and consistently is a necessity in his daily routine.

“I try to practice every day for 30 minutes to two hours,” Kim said.

Kim also described the process he undergoes every time he practices.

“The way I practice is by getting into the right mindset, and vigorously drilling things that need to be practiced,” Kim said.

Outside of playing for fun, Kim also participates in competitions centered around music.

“I yearly attend something called American Guild of Music or AGM,” Kim said. “It’s a piano competition for people around southeast Michigan.”
