Dodgeball tournament draws large, competitive crowd

The winning team gets their first place medals.

Thursday, Oct. 29, marked the return of RHS’s  annual Student Council-run dodge ball competition. This event took place in the auxiliary gym and had a fun and competitive atmosphere which instilled much school spirit within the students who attended.

“The dodge ball tournament has a great atmosphere,” sophomore John Saber said. “I like playing because I like dodge ball and it’s fun playing with my friends.”

The game was an amazing event for everyone to attend according to Saber.

“Even if you don’t really like dodge ball, it can still be a fun experience, especially if you make a team with friends,” Saber said. “I have made some great memories playing dodge ball that I’ll remember years from now.”

This event also inspired many students to show school spirit by wearing costumes and participating in the Halloween theme of the tournament.

“It worked well last year, so [we brought] the Halloween theme back this year.  It really gives everyone more freedom,” Saber said. “They can wear whatever they want and not everyone is wearing the same thing.”
