On Dec. 10 the RHS bands, directed by Mr. David Uhrig, hosted the annual winter concert. Mr. Uhrig believes this performance will set precedent for all other concerts.
“I hope to set the tone for the year to come,” Mr. Uhrig said. “Hopefully over the past month we prepared well, and I hope the concert is amazing.”
According to Mr. Uhrig, each concert is important to demonstrate the progress of the ensembles.
“I feel every concert has a significance of progress of the band,” Mr. Uhrig said. “And the improvements made from the last concert.”
Although the bands had little time to prepare, Mr. Uhrig feels they are well prepared for the concert.
“I think the preparation has been good with the limited time we’ve had to prepare for the concert,” Mr. Uhrig said.
Following the concert, Mr. Uhrig plans to shift the focus to festivals involving both the entire band and solo performers.
“We will begin festival preparations and solo ensemble chamber music preparations,” Mr. Uhrig said.
