On Friday, November 7, German teacher Frau Nancy Hanson and all five of her German classes carried white balloons with their wishes for the world around the school. They did this to remember the fall of the Berlin Wall.
“The students were asked to write their wish for a world without walls on the balloon in German and in English and carry the balloon around,” Frau Hanson said. “To reinforce the meaning of the fall of the wall and to give the students an opportunity to share the experience with others.”
This year was special because this year is the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
“I hope the experience was memorable for students,” Frau Hanson said. “The 25th anniversary can only happen once.”
Frau Hanson tells what she hoped the students learned from this.
“I hope it made them think about what would make the world a better place,” Frau Hanson said.
