After the Ravens got the ball, the Bills defense held them to only a field goal. No other points would be scored in the rest of the first quarter.
During the second quarter, the Ravens’ offense was too much for the Bills to handle. In only six plays, the Ravens drove for 85 yards, ending in Lamar Jackson handing the ball off to Derrick Henry, and he ran for a 30-yard touchdown to silence the Buffalo crowd. Tyler Loop ends the drive with an extra point right down the middle of the uprights. The Buffalo offense couldn’t get anything going and punted the ball back to the Ravens. The Ravens’ drive was only four plays and gained 69 yards, which ultimately ended in a Jackson 10-yard rushing touchdown and another extra point from Loop. Ravens kicked the ball back to the Bills. The Bills’ long offensive drive took six minutes and 51 seconds and 14 plays, but they finished it off with a field goal by Matt Prater. The Ravens offense had an easier time, and in only eight plays, they kicked a field goal. Loops’ field goal was good and dead center from 49 yards away. The Bills got the ball on the last drive of the half, and in only four plays, Prater kicked a 43-yard field goal.
To start the second half, Jackson passes the ball to Zay Flowers and scores a 23-yard touchdown. Prater kicks the extra point. The Bills’ 9-play drive ends with a 2-yard Cook touchdown. They try to go for a 2-point conversion, but it fails. In just three plays, the Ravens score another touchdown by Hopkins for 29 yards. Loop kicks the extra point.
The fourth quarter begins, the Bills are down 34-19, and many Buffalo fans are getting ready to leave early. Allen scores a rushing touchdown for the Bills to cut the lead to nine. In just four plays, the Ravens march down the field and score again, Henry with the touchdown, 46 yards. Loops Extra point is no good, and the score remains 40-25. Josh Allen threw a 10-yard passing touchdown to Coleman, Prater makes the extra point, and the score is now 40-32. The Ravens are unsuccessful on their offensive drive. The Bills get the ball back and score again with a rushing touchdown from Allen . The score of the game is now 40-38. The Bills’ defense gets another stop and puts their offense in a position to win the game. With three seconds left, Prater kicks a 32-yard game-winning field goal, and it’s good! The Buffalo Bills pulled out the win and defeated the Baltimore Ravens 41-40.
