“White Christmas” is a heartwarming Hallmark-inspired story. Setting the scene with two WW2 soldiers eager to get into show business, they spend the night at a hotel owned by their formal general. The soldiers see that the hotel is both run down and that the general is struggling, so they seize this opportunity to provide the guests with entertainment. Eventually, this brings in enough help to both fix up the hotel and help out the general and soldiers immensely. Rochester Alliance of Theatrical Students(RATS) is taking a spin this coming holiday season! From every RATS production, you can expect top-tier performance quality, cast, set and music. As the RATS director, Todd Miesch is the sole producer of the musical. By oversight of everything from cast to set, Miesch is tirelessly working both inside and outside of school to make this musical spectacular. There is a plethora of unseen work that goes into the staging of these productions, as it involves 3 different departments in the school. Choir teacher Ms. Leikens is involved, alongside band director Mr. Uhrig, as well as LA teachers Ms. Scott, Ms. Quinn and Social studies teacher Mrs. Miesch. Miesch is extremely excited for “White Christmas.” When asked what audiences should expect, he says “They can expect high quality, the actors are going to be phenomenal, the singing is going to be amazing the choreography is going to be awesome, they can expect not a high school production, but almost a professional level production”. As for goals of the cast, Miesch’s priority is to spread as much holiday cheer as possible, ”We want them to come with the expectation of being immersed in a holiday production, and bringing cheer to them”. There is no doubt that A White Christmas will be a great production, with a heartwarming story to bring families together during the season. As for when you will be able to see A White Christmas, tickets will go on sale in mid-September. Adult tickets will cost $15 when student tickets will cost $12.
