As New Year’s resolutions start taking action, many students at Rochester High School have noted wanting to participate in fashion trends. In account of last year, many trends didn’t last long, seemingly a blip in the vast majority of microtrends we see online. However, some trends are here to stay in the opinion of many falcons.
When breaking down specific trends Rochester students find to be their favorite trends this past year, and which ones they hope to continue, they offer a wide variety of answers.
Junior, Olga Kobita, states, “I hope that the sweat set trend stays, because it’s something I wear often.” Many would agree, expressing that Aritzia Sweat Sets are a staple in their closets, and it is something that they wear often.
However, some argued that they wanted this trend to end. Jenny Pepaj, a Junior, says “Sweat sets make people want to dress lazier.” Others would agree for the same reason, even calling them “overrated” and “expensive”.
Another popular trend among falcons is bows and slouchy socks. Junior Joelle Gadoua says, “I first thought the bow trend would die fast, but I ended up finding it really cute. Now I see them more than ever on things like hoodies and hair.”
Other students at Rochester predicted that beach girl fashion would become more popular this year as summer comes up. Jacob Piro says he hopes to see the 5-inch inseam shorts come back for the summer and springtime as well.
Overall, it’s always fun to see the diverse fashion opinions that students at Rochester have. Some are passionate about their niche styles, while others just go along with what’s the trendiest at the moment.
