You wake up in a daze, check your alarm clock, and realize that there’s barely enough time to get ready for school. In your rush, you grab a granola bar on the way out the door and hurry off to the bus stop. Whether your mornings often look like this, or you’re hoping to elevate your breakfast game, here are a few easy and delicious recipes for the most important meal of the day that take five minutes or less to make.

Nut Butter & Banana Toast-

Ingredients:

1 slice bread

1 Tbsp nut butter (almond, peanut, sunflower seed)

½ banana, sliced

½ Tsp chia seeds (optional)

Directions:

Toast the bread and spread on the nut butter. Then top with banana slices and sprinkle with chia seeds if you’d like.

Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats-

Ingredients:

½ cup rolled oats

½ cup milk (or non-dairy substitute)

¼ cup plain yogurt

½ cup apple, chopped

⅛ Tsp ground cinnamon

1 Tsp honey or brown sugar

Container of choice

Directions:

Combine oats, milk, and yogurt in the container. Add the apples, cinnamon, and top with a drizzle of honey. Cover and place in the fridge for a pre-made breakfast in the morning.

Microwave Quiche-

Ingredients:

1 mug

1 egg

⅓ cup milk

⅓ cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional add-ins:

½ cup chopped spinach

1 slice bacon, chopped (or bacon bits)

Directions:

If you are using fresh spinach, add it to the mug with 2 Tbsp of water and cover it with a paper towel. Microwave it on high for a 1 minute, then drain the liquid. Next, crack the egg into the mug with the spinach, along with the milk, cheese, bacon, and salt and pepper. Mix until well-combined. Cover with a paper towel and microwave on high for 3 minutes or until fully cooked. Let your quiche cool before eating it.

PB&J Waffle Sandwich-

Ingredients:

2 toaster waffles

1-2 Tbsp peanut butter

2 Tsps of your favorite jelly

Sliced fruit or berries (optional)

Directions:

Toast the waffles and spread on the peanut butter and jelly. If you’re adding any fruit, put this between the waffles before sandwiching them together.
