AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – In Greg Monroe’s first game back in the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Detroit Pistons defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in a Central Divison showdown, 102-95.

Prior to the game’s start, Monroe received boos from the crowd. The reason was unprecedented, considering that Monroe’s departure benefited both Detroit and himself.

The Pistons received another phenomenal performance from Andre Drummond, who logged 17 points and 23 rebounds. Drummond leads the league in 20+ rebound performances.

While the crowd as a whole didn’t participate, numerous fans chanted “MVP” when Drummond stepped up to the free-throw line, something that Pistons fans should consider doing more often, since the season Drummond is having is unbelievable.

The Pistons controlled the game throughout the contest, never giving up the lead after the first quarter. Detroit’s starters performed strongly throughout the contest.

Milwaukee’s defensive weaknesses showed throughout the game, as Detroit simply scored in any way possible. However, Milwaukee managed to stay in the game when Detroit failed to convert.

Thanks to Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris’ combined efforts, both scoring 23 points, the Pistons were able to hold their ground. The Pistons will need their efforts even more in the future, considering that the bench has been awful both offensively and defensively.

Milwaukee was led by another former Piston, Kris Middleton, in scoring with 21 points. Four other Bucks scored in double figures, but defensive woes hurt their efforts.

Drummond defended the paint very well against the Bucks, blocking two shots and altering countless others.

Bucks point-guard Jerryd Bayless went down on his ankle quite hard in the third quarter, but was able to head to the locker room under his own power.

The Pistons, (11-9), will face off against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers next Sunday, in Bryant’s final game in the Palace.
