AUBURN HILLS, MICH. – The Detroit Pistons defended their home court against the Phoenix Suns last night in a 127-122 overtime victory.

The win was certainly not pretty, as Detroit had to rally back from a 16-point deficit. However, the Pistons clawed their way back to force overtime, thanks to a pair of Andre Drummond free throws in the game’s final minutes.

Detroit led the game 31-25 at the end of the first, but gradually lost the lead. Detroit would be out scored in both the second and third quarters.

Detroit’s starters all scored in double figures, saving them from their abysmal bench. Reggie Jackson put in 34 points along with 16 assists. Drummond had another double-double night, scoring 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Phoenix received 20+ point performances from Jon Leuer, Eric Bledsoe, and Brandon  Knight. Also, Phoenix’s bench also produced, helping them out in terms of their early lead in the third quarter.

Phoenix held control for most of the game, but could not knock down shots in the final stretch, as Detroit closed the gap.

In the final seconds of the fourth quarter, Andre Drummond saved a loose ball, being fouled in the process. Being in the bonus, Drummond stepped to the line and knocked down two important free throws to tie up the game and send it into overtime.

Riding the momentum, Detroit outscored Phoenix 15-10 in the extra period, eventually winning the game.

The Pistons (10-9) will play the Milwaukee Bucks at home tomorrow.
